dc.description.abstractУ статті проаналізовано підходи та оцінки польських істориків кінця 19 – початку 20 ст. щодо українського козацтва. Особлива увага приділена трактуванню причин козацьких повстань, ролі Богдана Хмельницького та соціально-політичних наслідків козацьких змагань. Розглянуто вплив національних, соціальних та релігійних факторів на формування польської історіографічної концепції козацтва, а також порівняно різні школи польської історичної науки. Метою статті є виявлення специфіки поглядів польських істориків кінця 19 – початку 20 ст. на українське козацтво та козацькі повстання, а також аналіз їх впливу на формування історіографічного дискурсу щодо Польщі та України у зазначений період. Методологічна основа дослідження базується на історико-історіографічному та порівняльному аналізі джерел, включно з польськими науковими працями кінця 19 – початку 20 ст., архівними матеріалами, а також на застосуванні методів системного аналізу, історико-порівняльного підходу та критичного осмислення джерел. Наукова новизна публікації. У статті здійснено спробу систематизації поглядів польських істориків різних шкіл та ідеологічних спрямувань щодо українського козацтва кінця 19 – початку 20 ст. Проведено комплексний аналіз трактувань козацьких повстань, ролі гетьманів та оцінки соціально-політичних наслідків для Речі Посполитої, що дозволяє уточнити специфіку польської історіографії та її вплив на сучасне сприйняття козацької проблематики. Висновки. Польські історики кінця 19 – початку 20 ст. трактували українське козацтво переважно як внутрішню проблему Речі Посполитої, надаючи значної уваги соціально-економічним та політичним чинникам повстань. Водночас більшість авторів ігнорували національний та релігійний аспекти козацьких змагань, а роль Богдана Хмельницького оцінювали амбівалентно, поєднуючи військові здібності з особистими амбіціями та помстою. Аналіз свідчить про домінування позитивістських та неоромантичних інтерпретацій у польській історіографії, що вплинуло на формування стереотипного образу козацтва в польській науці.
dc.description.abstractThe article analyzes the approaches and assessments of Polish historians of the late 19th – early 20th century regarding Ukrainian Cossacks. Particular attention is paid to the interpretation of the causes of Cossack uprisings, the role of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, and the socio-political consequences of Cossack struggles. The influence of national, social, and religious factors on the formation of the Polish historiographical concept of the Cossacks is considered, and different schools of Polish historical scholarship are compared. Purpose of the Article. The purpose of this study is to identify the specifics of Polish historians’ views of the late 19th – early 20th century on Ukrainian Cossacks and Cossack uprisings, as well as to analyze their impact on the formation of the historiographical discourse regarding Poland and Ukraine during this period. Methodological Basis. The research is based on historical and historiographical analysis, including Polish scholarly works of the late 19th – early 20th century, archival materials, and the application of methods of systemic analysis, historical-comparative approach, and critical source interpretation. Scientific Novelty. The article systematizes, for the first time, the perspectives of Polish historians from different schools and ideological orientations regarding Ukrainian Cossacks of the late 19th – early 20th century. A comprehensive analysis of interpretations of Cossack uprisings, the role of hetmans, and evaluations of the socio-political consequences for the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth is conducted, which clarifies the specifics of Polish historiography and its influence on the modern perception of the Cossack issue. Conclusions. Polish historians of the late 19th – early 20th century mainly treated Ukrainian Cossacks as an internal problem of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, emphasizing socio-economic and political factors of the uprisings. At the same time, most authors ignored the national and religious aspects of the Cossack struggles, and the role of Bohdan Khmelnytsky was assessed ambivalently, combining military abilities with personal ambitions and revenge. The analysis shows the dominance of positivist and neo-romantic interpretations in Polish historiography, which influenced the formation of a stereotypical image of the Cossacks in Polish scholarship.
