Problem statement. The professional training of future STEM teachers requires integrating subject, methodological, digital, inclusive, and emotional-communicative readiness. In a digital educational environment, pedagogical interaction is complicated by technical failures, unstable internet connections, loss of audio or video channels, and delays in platform operation. For learners with special educational needs, such situations may lead to the loss of access to support, communication, or learning content. Therefore, the emotional intelligence of future STEM teachers should be considered as a condition for inclusive interaction in a digitally unstable environment.Materials and methods. The study had a pilot phase and used a “pre-test – formative intervention – post-test” design. The participants were 36 third- and fourth-year students training to become teachers of physics, mathematics, and computer science. The theoretical basis of the study was formed through the analysis of research on teachers’ emotional intelligence, inclusive education, digital competence, and STEM teacher training. Empirical measurement was conducted using the test “Recognition of Emotions in the Digital Environment” and a situational case simulating a loss of video connection during interaction with a learner with hearing impairment. The formative intervention was implemented through the training program “Emotional Intelligence for Inclusive STEM”.Results. After participation in the training program, the mean emotion recognition score in the digital environment increased from 65.08% to 74.11%. In the situational case, the mean expert assessment score increased from 5.47 to 10.67 points. The most noticeable changes concerned the constructiveness of actions, empathic communication, and the ability to self-regulate under conditions of technical failure. Participants more often proposed backup communication channels, supportive wording, and a concise algorithm for further actions.Conclusions. The findings indicate the relevance of purposefully developing future STEM teachers’ emotional intelligence through training, case-based, and reflective tasks. Emotional intelligence appears as a professional resource that helps teachers maintain inclusive interaction under conditions of digital instability. Further research should involve a larger sample, a control group, delayed measurement, and a wider set of inclusive digital cases.
